hello,

I´ve found this today (20.12.) at ch-aviation...

Hemus Air (DU/Sofia) has leased an ex-Alitalia (AZ/Milan Malpensa) MD-82 which has now been wet-leased to Albanian Airlines (LV/Tirana).

This is the news of the day! Interesting how was the plane wet-leased from Hemus to Albanian Airlines. This can meen two things:
1) Hemus Air pilots have learned flying the MD-82.
2) Hemus Air has taken Bulgarian Air Charter crew.

There is something right after all, but it has nothing to do with Hemus Air.

The fact is that Bulgarian Air Charter is going to wet-lease an MD-82 to Albanian Airlines (according to sources at BUC)

Ok, than Hemus Air will lease the airplane not from Al Italia, but from Bulgarian Air Charter, and will re-lease it to Albanian Airlines. Am I right?

I am not quite sure as a matter of fact. Having in mind the long term relations between Hemus Air and Albanian Airlines there is not much, which can surprise me.

But anyway (as far as the information I got) it is gong to be a BAC airplane, operated by BAC crew. Although it is quite possible that it was first leased to Hemus Air and than to Albanian. Otherwise Hemus Air can enter the Guiness Book of records if we compare the total number of paseengers carried to the different type of airplanes they operate with.
Although there are not Tupolev 134 back, let us not forget Yak 40, TU5, ATR 42 (VM), BAe 146 and now MD 82 no way. But some times normal logic does not apply to DU. Who knows?

P.S. All BAC MD's are going to be with 164 seats for the summer season.

LZ-LDK is now flying for Albanian Airlines. The airplane is MD-82, ex. Al Italia I-DAVK, s/n 49432.
