След 100 пътнически полета при SIA ,азиатската компания е доволна."Пилотите както и кабинния екипаж са много доволни с А380"-говорителя на компанията.А380 започна с премиерен полет на 25 октомври от Сингапур към Сидни.От 28 октомври извършва дневно 2 полета ,вечер от Сингапур към Сидни и на следващтата сутрин обратно.Забелязва се ясно стрмежа към закупуване на билети за А380,тъй като по тази линия лети още и 747.Връзките с полетен номер SQ220 и SQ221 са за сега единствените линии за А380.Щом като получи компанията през ранната половина на 2008 следващите машини ще се лети с А380 също към London-Heathrow.А380 бе доставен с едногодишно закъснение.До края на номври според дани от Airbus са поръчани 177 екземпяра от този тип.В следващите месеци освен SIA също Emirates и Qantas ще получат първите си А380 .

SIA's first A380 in minor incident in Singapore

Airbus and Singapore Airlines (SIA) technical personnel are carrying out detailed landing gear checks on the carrier’s sole Airbus A380 today following a minor incident last night while the aircraft was being towed prior to departure from Singapore Changi airport.
Last night’s incident involved flight SQ221 that operates daily between Singapore and Sydney. SIA says a ground vehicle being used to push back the aircraft “experienced some form of failure which caused the truck to disconnect with the aircraft”.
It adds: “As a consequence of the failure on the truck, the aircraft, an Airbus A380, came into contact with the grass verge off the airport tarmac. The aircraft was not under its own power at the time.”
Passengers were disembarked from the aircraft and many were put on an alternate Boeing 747-400 for the delayed flight, before the A380 was positioned back onto the tarmac for inspections.
The A380 is currently the only one in commercial service and since October it has been operating one round-trip flight per day between Singapore and Sydney. SIA has reported no troubles until now and stresses that although it was the “first incident involving the A380, [the] cause was an issue with the tow-truck, not the aircraft”.
It adds that the aircraft is not required for service until tonight so SIA engineers are “using the opportunity to conduct a fairly detailed assessment of the landing gear with Airbus” technical personnel, “perhaps more detailed than normal because it’s the first requirement to do so”.
SIA is meanwhile preparing to take delivery of its second A380, which could take place today.

Second A380 arrives in Singapore

Second super jumbo A380 delivered by Airbus to Singapore Airlines (SIA) arrived here Saturday morning, SIA said.
The world's largest passenger aircraft was handed over to SIA at the Airbus Delivery Center in Toulouse, France on Friday and then flew to its new home.
It arrived in Singapore at 9 a.m. local time (0100GMT).The second aircraft will complement the first to fly on the existing Sydney route, and providing opportunities for crew training, according to SIA.
SIA, Singapore's flag airline, is the world's first airline to fly the first A380, which launched commercial service between Singapore and Sydney in October last year.
SIA has purchased 19 A380 from Airbus and is excepted to get the third aircraft in late February which will fly the London route.

Fuel pump glitch grounds Singapore Airlines A380

Singapore Airlines was forced to make the first cancellation of an A380 service due to a technical problem yesterday, after its single operational aircraft suffered a fuel pump problem.
Airbus confirms that Monday’s A380 flight from Singapore to Sydney was replaced by a 747-400 due to a “fuel pump issue”. SIA is reported to have said that that the problem was detected during engine start, and could not be resolved by the installation of a replacement fuel pump. The airline was unavailable for comment.
The switch to the 747, which has around 30% fewer seats than the A380, resulted in around 70 of the 418 passengers booked on the A380 being transferred to other flights today, say reports.
“Airbus and our own engineers have dedicated teams to try to address these issues quickly, but last night's fuel pump defect took much longer to fix,” Singapore Airlines said in an e-mailed statement to The Associated Press.
Airbus says that the aircraft involved was SIA’s first A380 (MSN003/9V-SKA), which had been re-introduced to service recently following a grounding for modifications when the airline’s second A380 (MSN005) was delivered.
That aircraft is now “in working party” says Airbus, while MSN003 has had its fuel pump issue resolved and is back in service today.
This marks the first replacement of an A380 flight due to a technical issue since the 471-seater entered service with SIA in October last year.
However in January, an SIA A380 departure from Singapore was replaced by a 747 after the aircraft was towed onto the grass while being repositioned. As a result, the aircraft was briefly grounded for detailed landing gear checks.
