Another week, another problem for Norwegian Air Shuttle (NAS:NO)‘s Boeing 787 Dreamliners.In what is becoming routine for the Scandinavian discount airline, passengers sat through a lengthy delay after one of its 787s suffered a fuel leak in Bangkok on Sunday. A passenger’s photo of the plane spewing jet fuel while taxiing circulated widely online. The airplane has returned to Sweden for repairs.“Boeing’s maintenance team is now working on the aircraft in Stockholm,” Norwegian spokesman Lasse Sandaker-Nielsen wrote today in an e-mail. Norwegian “is also in the position that its entire new, low-fare, long-haul business model is based on the 787 and any disruption to its very small fleet has an out-sized effect than it would on United (UAL), which has a lot of long-haul airplanes to cover for a 787 issue, or even ANA (9202:JP) or Japan Airlines,” says Scott Hamilton, an analyst with Leeham & Co.When United, the only U.S. 787 operator, took its first 787 in 2012, Boeing “embedded” several 787 personnel with the airline’s operations staff in Houston, says spokeswoman Mary Ryan. United performs the routine maintenance on its eight 787s, which operate “just as normally as the other aircraft in the fleet,” she says. That type of on-site support is common for a major buyer with a new program; United is purchasing 65 of the planes, ANA buying 66, and Japan Airlines taking nearly four dozen. Norwegian is awaiting the delivery of seven additional 787s through 2016, including two of Boeing’s larger 787-9 models.

NEW YORK, Feb 24 (Reuters) - General Electric Co said on Monday a problem reported with a Boeing Co 787 Dreamliner operated by Air India did not involve its aircraft engines, refuting an earlier report. The report in the Times of India earlier on Monday quoted an Air India official as saying there was a "problem with the engine and some of its blades have broken." A spokesman for GE said later that the problem was not with the GEnx Engine on the plane, but with the ram air turbine, an auxiliary generator used to provide electrical power in emergency situations. Boeing declined to comment, referring questions to Air India. Air India did not respond to a request for comment. British aerospace and defense group Rolls-Royce also makes 787 engines, but the Air India fleet uses GE engines exclusively...

BOEING СЪОБЩИ ЗА ПУКНАТИНИ В КРИЛАТА НА САМОЛЕТИТЕ DREAMLINER

Американският производител на авиационна техника Boeing съобщи, че е установил наличието на микроскопични пукнатини по крилата на някои от своите самолети Dreamliner 787, които все още са в производство, предаде AFP.

“Боинг” поясни, че пукнатините са били открити по крилата, изработени от Mitsubishi Heavy Industries в Япония, но настоя, че е “уверен, че този проблем не е наличен при самолетите в експлоатация.

DREAMLINER НА ЯПОНСКИТЕ АВИОЛИНИИ КАЦНА АВАРИЙНО В ХОНОЛУЛУ

Самолет Boeing 787 Dreamliner на Японските авиолинии, пътуващ от Токио за Сан Франциско, е извършил аварийно кацане на международното летище в Хонолулу, предаде ИТАР-ТАСС, позовавайки се на изявление на компанията.
По нейни данни, приземяването се е наложило заради техническа неизправност на самолета. Засега няма други подробности. Никой от пътниците не е пострадал.

As use of the Boeing BA -1.41% 787 expands rapidly, United is preparing to operate two of the world’s longest 787 flights. United’s Los Angeles-Melbourne flight, scheduled to begin service Oct. 26, would travel 7,927 miles, currently the longest plan route to be operated by the 787 family. The flight would operate six days a week.United’s San Francisco-Chengdu flight, scheduled to begin service June 9, would not only be the first non-stop flight ever from the U.S. to Chengdu, but also would be the longest 787 flight to operate non-stop in both directions, at least until the Melbourne flight begins. The route is 6,857 miles. The flight would operate three times a week, pending government approval.
Currently, the two longest 787 flights are operated by Ethiopian Airlines, but both stop in Rome on westbound routes from Addis Ababa to Washington and Toronto. Addis-Washington is 7,182 miles, while Addis-Toronto is 7,143 miles.The third longest 787 flight, operated by AeroMexico, operates Mexico City-Tokyo but makes a westbound stop in Tijuana. Boeing 787 Dreamliner с почти вертикално излитане.
Boeing пусна промоционален видеоклип в четвъртък. Най-зашеметяващ трик е почти вертикално излитане и след това изкачване към небето с изумителен ъгъл.

За малкото останали в този форум интересуващи се от авиация: първият 787-10 е на поточната линия, след някой друг месец ще бъде готов :D .

787-10 не е просто удължаване на 787-9. До 95 процента от проектните характеристики, са сходни с тези на по-малкия модел ,като това позволява висока степен на унификация. Окончателното сглобяване на 787-10 ще е в новия завод на Boeing в Чарлстън, Южна Каролина. Първата доставка е насрочена за 2018та. 787-10 ще консумира 25 по-малко гориво, отколкото предишното поколение самолети.
Досега Boeing има 153 твърди поръчки за най-дългата версия - Dreamliner.

787 периодично трябва да се рестартира, защото в противен случай следва саморестарт в полет и кратковременна загуба на управление.
