No survivors on Cessna Citation 1 as it crashes into residential area in Farnborough

Rescue workers are trawling through the wreckage to recover the bodies of five people who were killed after their Cessna Citation I crashed into a house in a residential area of Farnborough, Kent, UK.
The Cessna Citation I aircraft came down in Romsey Close at about 14:30 yesterday. The people who live in the damaged house - which was empty at the time of the crash - were away on holiday.
The dead have not been officially identified but are believed to include ex-touring car racer David Leslie and racing team owner Richard Lloyd.
Air accident investigators will study reports the aircraft had engine problems.

Blue Wing crash kills at least 19

An Antonov AN-28 operated by Surinamese carrier Blue Wing Airlines (Paramaribo) has crashed en route to a remote mining region in southern Surinam Thursday (April 3). Officials say that at least nineteen (19)(possibly 20) people were killed in the accident, but were still trying to determine the exact number aboard. Brian Desouza, flight safety division manager for the local aviation authority, said, “The local people have reached the aircraft; they know what the situation is, and we’re putting up investigation teams.” Arie Verkuyl, a member of Blue Wing’s board of directors, said his daughter was the pilot of the aircraft, and that the crash occurred in a light rain just after she had aborted a previous landing attempt and was coming around to try again.
In June 2006, European Union authorities prohibited Blue Wing from landing at European airports after French aviation officials found safety deficiencies during inspection of plane. The European Commission removed the airline from the blacklist in November 2007, saying the company had resolved the issues.

B-1B bomber catches fire on runway in Qatar

A US Air Force Rockwell/North American B-1B bomber was damaged after catching fire on a runway late today in Qatar.
“A US Air Force B-1, while taxiing after landing at al-Udeid Air Base, Qatar, was involved in a ground incident and caught fire,” a spokesman for the Coalition Air Operations Center at the base told FlightGlobal.com.
The crew evacuated the aircraft and is “safe”, he added.
No details about the cause of the fire were released. A board of inquiry has been appointed to investigate the incident.
The B-1B fleet has been stung by a rash of landing incidents since last month.
On 7 March, a B-1B crashed into emergency vehicles after sliding off a runway at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam. Two weeks later, a B-1B landing in South Dakota reportedly set off several grass fires near the runway, although no cause for the fires has been released.
